Amelia’s journey is, above all, a powerful testimony to God’s protective hand in the midst of a sudden and terrifying storm. From the night of September 26th, His providence was evident, from placing her in the care of surgeons who successfully removed a life-threatening clot to sustaining her through the critical days in the PICU to guiding the surgeons hands in her second surgery to remove the AVM entirely. Each step, from the first breath she took off the ventilator to the final removal of the AVM, has been a direct answer to the big prayers of a community trusting in His timing. Now, as Amelia continues the hard work of recovery in rehab, we see God’s sustaining strength moving through her every effort. He is the source of her resilience as she works tirelessly day by day, reclaiming the gifts of speech, movement, and nourishment. While the road to restoration is long, we trust that the same God who shielded her in the operating room is now faithfully walking beside her as she relearns how to walk, talk, and eat. We continue to ask for His healing hand to move in big ways, believing that He who began this good work in Amelia will be the one to see it through to completion. With the surgeries, procedures, and extended hospital stays, we're just now beginning to see the financial implications of these visits. As their community, we want to surround them with our support any way we can. We have showered them with our prayers, meals, encouragement, gifts, and even financial contributions in those early months.
